About Us
Porirua Club first opened in 1965. It was initially a
Men's Club, with 207 members. The first club premises were
in the Anvree Building, Cobham Court. In 1971, the club
opened the doors at 1 Lodge Place - a prime site in Porirua.
Designed for a membership of 1000, the clubrooms were later
extensively enlarged in 1974. Membership now ranges
between 1500 and 1600 members, including several life members.
Through the good fortune of having competent staff, careful
committees and solid member support, the Club has seldom failed
to operate on anything other than a profitable basis.
Additionally, many contributions are made to charity and
non-profit organisations throughout the area.
Porirua Club is a great asset to Porirua City. and one that will
continue to be part of the community supporting the community
for many years to come.

A few words from our President
“The Club offers a wide
variety of activities, which include indoor and
outdoor sporting
events, evening entertainment, and regular social activities.
Our indoor facilities further support our social atmosphere –
from the Club library, through to the TAB and gaming area – it’s
all part and parcel of your Club membership!

|
|

The Club also has excellent dining facilities and caters for
many functions such as weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Our friendly and co-operative atmosphere is reflected
throughout the Club. Our Sec/Manager, Staff, Board of Management
and myself will always be pleased to help you in any way we can.
Just ask.
Once you have tested the waters, so to speak, it would be
nice of you to introduce your family, friends and acquaintances
to the benefits of becoming a member of the Porirua Club.”
John Hearps, President
